Borneo Life Testimonial : Retired teachers from NZ - their stay in Kuching

Retired teachers from NZ - their stay in Kuching

We stayed in Apartment 604 in the Riverbank Suites building in Kuching for the month of June 2008.

We were returning to Kuching after being seduced by its charms the previous year and found the apartment by searching the net. Riverbank Suite building is absolute river front and very central. This was the apartment’s most attractive feature and no other building can equal its location. The views from our balcony was superb. The wide tidal Sarawak River flows through the centre of the city and is full of life. Much of our time was spent “watching the sunset”, storms, the kampong lifestyle directly across the river, various watercraft and river activities happening just below us. Close enough to wave and call to those passing. Teams of rowers were training for a regatta in July and powered past each evening.

Across the road is a shopping centre with a supermarket open 10am – 10pm and a short stroll along the riverside took us to the city centre past rows of old shophouses or any number of cheap delicious food outlets. Moi, our contact with Borneo Life who rents out the apartment, was friendly and very obliging. All our needs and requests were promptly and efficiently dealt with. The apartment is well-serviced by excellent cleaning staff and kept secure by electronic card access. There is parking space in the basement. (On the rooftop is a swimming pool long enough to keep up your fitness regime and most days you will have it to yourself.) The apartment consists of two double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and a spacious open-plan lounge, dining, kitchen area. Sliding doors open to the balcony from the master bedroom and the lounge. Appliances include sat TV, microwave, oven, air-con and wi-fi. Apartment 604 offers comfort and a close-up glimpse of Kuching life. We will be keen to return for future stays.
